The Bears let Johnson fall into their laps, and walked away with a B+.

Whoever sat across the table from the Bears should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.

That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
