The 49ers found their guy under center in Ward: B+. There is conviction, and then there is this. The 49ers took Nazir Stackhouse a full 61 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. No fireworks, but a solid B+.
Everything downstream of Cam Ward depends on Cam Ward, and the building knows it. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Harris. The 49ers indulged a want in Alexander while a need in edge rusher stayed open.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
