The rest of the league had time to spare on Xavier Thomas; the Falcons did not wait, grabbing him 27 spots ahead at Round 7, Pick 25.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. That Powers-Johnson pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
