The Browns did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B+. Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Browns spent Round 6, Pick 3 on J.J. Weaver, a name most had 198 spots down the list. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.
The Gordon II pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The Carter pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with tight end and safety still on the board.
Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
