ASB87 DRAFTING FOR THEBuccaneers

Draft Grade — Buccaneers

The Buccaneers kept it disciplined and banked a B-. The tape said wait; the Buccaneers did not. Cedric Gray went at pick No. 89, a good 46 picks before the board was ready.
For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Wiley steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Chris Braswell
In the 26th pick they get a disruptor off the edge at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick58
Rnd2
Cooper Beebe
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Cooper Beebe. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick89
Rnd3
Cedric Gray
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Cedric Gray well ahead of where he belonged. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick126
Rnd4
Jaylin Simpson
Jaylin Simpson at the Round 4 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick204
Rnd6
Sam Hartman
A reach for Sam Hartman in No. 204; a little patience would have been rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
Pick220
Rnd6
Jared Wiley
They read the board right and Jared Wiley was the payoff at the 220th overall pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick247
Rnd7
Tatum Bethune
Tatum Bethune at the Round 7 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
