Draft Grade — Ravens

Devonshire should have been long gone. The Ravens pounced, and earned a B. The board owed the Ravens one, and it paid up: M.J. Devonshire, the No. 191 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 7 slot like a gift left on the doorstep. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
They are betting Henderson proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Graham Barton
Graham Barton at Round 1, Pick 30 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick62
Rnd2
Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson in the 62nd pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
Pick93
Rnd3
Caelen Carson
No edge and no loss on Caelen Carson in No. 93; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick113
Rnd4
Blake Fisher
No drama and no debate, Blake Fisher went about where he belonged in slot 113. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick130
Rnd4
Roger Rosengarten
A straight-up fair deal on Roger Rosengarten at the Round 4 slot, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick165
Rnd5
Dwight McGlothern
Dwight McGlothern at pick 165 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick218
Rnd6
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
You do not let a wide receiver like Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint reach pick No. 218 and blink. They did not. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick228
Rnd7
LaDarius Henderson
LaDarius Henderson in the 228th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick250
Rnd7
M.J. Devonshire
A cornerback of that caliber at Round 7, Pick 30 is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
