Draft Grade — Bears
Overall A-
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
The Bears worked the phones like thieves and earned a A-.

The real work happened on the phones. The Bears fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with. They executed a plan and it shows in the A-.

Limmer has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Getting Haynes where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Marcus Epps gives the group a proven body among the projects.

A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Malik Nabers
In pick 3 they get a home-run threat at receiver. A real need, handled.
Pick13 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
In pick No. 13 they get a premier pass rusher at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick34 Rnd2 Roman Wilson
Roman Wilson at the 34th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick44 Rnd2 Braden Fiske
A conviction pick on Braden Fiske at No. 44 that the board grades a round light. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick75 Rnd3 Christian Haynes
A tidy bit of business in slot 75, where Christian Haynes graded well above the range. The roster fit checks out.
Pick103 Rnd4 Beaux Limmer
Beaux Limmer at Round 4, Pick 3 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It fills a real need, too.
Pick110 Rnd4 Zak Zinter
Good price on Zak Zinter in the Round 4 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick122 Rnd4 McKinnley Jackson
By-the-book stuff, McKinnley Jackson at the 122nd overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
