The Bears cashed the board's mistake on Sweat: B. The board owed the Bears one, and it paid up: T'Vondre Sweat, the No. 47 name on the board, sitting there at slot 111 like a gift left on the doorstep. No fireworks, but a solid B.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. The Bears paired the rookies with proven help, Tyree Wilson leading the way.
The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
