Hard to poke a hole in the Giants' weekend: A-. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Giants reached some 85 spots for Brady Cook, and value like that does not grow back. The sum of the weekend is a deserved A-.
That Higgins pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Malaki Starks
In the Round 1 slot they get an enforcer at safety, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick34
Rnd2
Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson at slot 34 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick59
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
They will replay Jihaad Campbell at No. 59 for years; that is how good the value is. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick65
Rnd3
Omarr Norman-Lott
They went early on Omarr Norman-Lott in Round 3, Pick 1, and the value did not follow. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick91
Rnd3
Daylen Everette
A real head-scratcher, Daylen Everette in the 91st overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick103
Rnd4
Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins at pick 103 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick134
Rnd4
Oronde Gadsden II
Fair-plus on Oronde Gadsden II, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick153
Rnd5
Brady Cook
A big swing on Brady Cook at pick No. 153, well ahead of any board in the building. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick219
Rnd7
Miles Frazier
Miles Frazier in the 219th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick246
Rnd7
Steven Parker
Steven Parker at Round 7, Pick 30 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
