Draft Grade — Colts

Grand theft in the 248th overall pick: the Colts steal Harris and grade out a A-. Thirty-one other rooms let Tre Harris slide, and the Colts were the ones holding the card at the Round 7 slot. Highway robbery. Add it all up and it grades out a clean A-.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The veteran additions, Trey Hendrickson chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
It is a haul that will look even better come September.
Pick Analysis
Pick19
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
In pick No. 19 they get a security blanket over the middle at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick45
Rnd2
Xavier Watts
No drama and no debate, Xavier Watts went about where he belonged in the Round 2 slot. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick80
Rnd3
Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell at slot 80 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick150
Rnd5
Zy Alexander
Zy Alexander in pick 150 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick186
Rnd6
Dylan Fairchild
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Dylan Fairchild in the 186th pick, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick187
Rnd6
Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo in Round 6, Pick 12 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick248
Rnd7
Tre Harris
The board fumbled Tre Harris all the way to No. 248, and they scooped it up. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
