Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Browns: B-.

The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named quarterback, a need the Browns walked right past. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

Hunt has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick54 Rnd2 Malachi Corley
Malachi Corley at slot 54 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick85 Rnd3 Michael Hall Jr.
A clean, defensible pick in Round 3, Pick 22 with a little surplus value in Michael Hall Jr.. It fills a real need, too.
Pick135 Rnd4 Christian Jones
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Christian Jones. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick155 Rnd5 Jalyx Hunt
They liked Jalyx Hunt enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 5 slot. A pick in search of a role on this roster.
Pick205 Rnd6 Daijun Edwards
By-the-book stuff, Daijun Edwards at No. 205 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick208 Rnd6 Tanor Bortolini
Tanor Bortolini in pick No. 208 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The roster fit checks out.
Pick228 Rnd7 Josh Proctor
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Josh Proctor in the 228th pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
