Draft Grade — Rams
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
A passer of the future in Moore, and a B+, for the Rams.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Dante Moore is the Rams' quarterback, full stop. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.

Every board in the league had Umanmielen lower, and that gap is the story. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. That Brown pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. With running back and tight end unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Dante Moore
Dante Moore in pick 15 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick22 Rnd1 Avieon Terrell
In pick No. 22 they get a potential shutdown corner. Need was not the driver here.
Pick49 Rnd2 Anthony Hill Jr.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Anthony Hill Jr. in Round 2, Pick 17. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick82 Rnd3 Xavier Chaplin
By-the-book stuff, Xavier Chaplin at the 82nd pick squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick83 Rnd3 A.J. Haulcy
A tidy bit of business in the 83rd overall pick, where A.J. Haulcy graded well above the range. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick84 Rnd3 C.J. Fite
C.J. Fite in slot 84 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick116 Rnd4 Harold Perkins Jr.
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Harold Perkins Jr. adds a linebacker and leaves running back and tight end untouched.
Pick157 Rnd5 Duce Robinson
Duce Robinson slipping to the Round 5 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick161 Rnd5 Max Iheanachor
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Max Iheanachor at the Round 5 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick193 Rnd6 Cam Calhoun
A straight-up fair deal on Cam Calhoun at Round 6, Pick 10, value and slot in agreement. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick200 Rnd6 Princewill Umanmielen
Princewill Umanmielen at the 200th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick222 Rnd7 De'Zhaun Stribling
De'Zhaun Stribling at pick No. 222 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick252 Rnd7 Barion Brown
Barion Brown at the 252nd pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
