Draft Grade — Bears
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
The Bears worked the phones like thieves and earned a A-.

Whoever sat across the table from the Bears should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. Just about everything broke right, and the A- follows.

Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. That Turner pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

Bottom line, with Rome Odunze leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.

Pick Analysis
Pick10 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In pick 10 they get a weapon on the perimeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Dallas Turner
Dallas Turner slid further than he should have, and pick No. 34 is lovely value for the edge rusher. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick38 Rnd2 Josh Newton
A clean, defensible pick in the 38th overall pick with a little surplus value in Josh Newton. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick52 Rnd2 Patrick Paul
Patrick Paul at the 52nd pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
Pick66 Rnd3 Byron Murphy II
They paid sticker price for Byron Murphy II in the Round 3 slot, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick100 Rnd3 Dominick Puni
A tidy little value on Dominick Puni in No. 100, a step better than break-even. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
