The Broncos spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Emery Jones Jr., the No. 124 name on the board, in pick No. 193. No fireworks, but a solid B.

The Porter pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with linebacker, edge rusher and other spots still on the board. Leaving linebacker unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
