The Colts let Williams fall and pounced. Final grade: B-.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Colts were there to profit. Nohl Williams, the No. 177 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick 232. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

In the 14th overall pick they get a building block for the line at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick45 Rnd2 Jihaad Campbell
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jihaad Campbell in pick 45. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick80 Rnd3 Mason Taylor
Mason Taylor at Round 3, Pick 16 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick117 Rnd4 Billy Bowman Jr.
Billy Bowman Jr. at the 117th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick151 Rnd5 Malachi Moore
A safety of that caliber at pick No. 151 is the definition of value, full stop. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick189 Rnd6 Ollie Gordon II
Taking Ollie Gordon II in the Round 6 slot is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick232 Rnd7 Nohl Williams
Nohl Williams in slot 232 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A minor need, but a need all the same.
