Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The 49ers spent pick No. 138 on Gracen Halton, a name the board had a full 44 spots lower.

The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They banked enough surplus on Slaughter to cover a lot of smaller sins.

On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
