The Cardinals bled value on every deal, hence the D-. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Cardinals did exactly that with Tahj Washington in pick 256. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D-.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. On value alone, Goncalves makes the weekend a net positive. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.
The veteran additions, Khalen Saunders chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
