Nightmare22 DRAFTING FOR THEBengals
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall
B
ValueA
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Bengals for Mullings: B. The board owed the Bengals one, and it paid up: Kalel Mullings, the No. 106 name on the board, sitting there at pick No. 191 like a gift left on the doorstep. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up. The roster is better shaped than it was, with tight end chief among the fixes. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Mason Graham
Mason Graham at slot 17 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick49
Rnd2
Jalon Walker
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Jalon Walker in pick 49, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Pick81
Rnd3
Harold Fannin Jr.
You do not let a tight end like Harold Fannin Jr. reach the Round 3 slot and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick117
Rnd4
Sebastian Castro
Steal is underselling it; Sebastian Castro at pick No. 117 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick152
Rnd5
Barrett Carter
Circle this one: Barrett Carter at No. 152 is a fall that decides a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick191
Rnd6
Kalel Mullings
The board fumbled Kalel Mullings all the way to Round 6, Pick 16, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
