The Patriots cashed the board's mistake on Fitzgerald: A.

Call it larceny. Ryan Fitzgerald sat on the board until Round 7, Pick 22, and the Patriots did not need to be asked twice.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The Patriots indulged a want in Campbell while a need in edge rusher, interior defensive lineman and other spots stayed open.

In the end it comes back to Luther Burden III, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
