Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall C+
ValueB+ NeedB TradesF FutureB+
Emmanwori should have been long gone. The Commanders pounced, and earned a C+.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Nick Emmanwori tumbling to the Commanders in the 61st pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. A weekend of give and take that grades a C+.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The Winston Jr. pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with tight end, offensive lineman and other spots still on the board. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end.

Hit on Nick Emmanwori and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick Analysis
Pick61 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Steal is underselling it; Nick Emmanwori at No. 61 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick63 Rnd2 TreVeyon Henderson
A slide stopped in the 63rd pick, with TreVeyon Henderson worth more than the price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick66 Rnd3 Darien Porter
A conviction pick on Darien Porter at the Round 3 slot that the board grades a round light. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick95 Rnd3 Kevin Winston Jr.
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending pick 95 on Kevin Winston Jr. with tight end, offensive lineman and other spots unsolved.
Pick99 Rnd3 Deone Walker
A tidy bit of business in Round 3, Pick 35, where Deone Walker graded well above the range. It fills a real need, too.
Pick205 Rnd6 Jaydon Blue
Somehow Jaydon Blue was still sitting there in slot 205, and they pounced on premier running back value. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick245 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
A reasonable price with a little left over, Isaac TeSlaa in the 245th overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
