Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB TradesC+ FutureB+
The Commanders kept it disciplined and banked a B.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Commanders reached some 38 spots for Fadil Diggs, and value like that does not grow back. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

The Hampton pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick45 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori at slot 45 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick61 Rnd2 Omarion Hampton
They will replay Omarion Hampton at No. 61 for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick94 Rnd3 Danny Stutsman
The board had Danny Stutsman higher than pick 94, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick124 Rnd4 Emery Jones Jr.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Emery Jones Jr. this early at the 124th pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick159 Rnd5 Logan Brown
They let Logan Brown come to them and pounced at the 159th overall pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick205 Rnd6 Fadil Diggs
A big swing on Fadil Diggs at Round 6, Pick 29, well ahead of any board in the building. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick245 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa in the 245th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
