The Bengals won the night they stopped Johnson from sliding. Grade: B-.

The board owed the Bengals one, and it paid up: Cornelius Johnson, the No. 187 name on the board, sitting there at No. 237 like a gift left on the doorstep.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. They will need McLachlan to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
