Draft Grade — Commanders

FutureA+
Best value of the weekend goes to the Commanders for Milroe: C+. The rest of the league will want that one back. Jalen Milroe tumbling to the Commanders in the 128th pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. A weekend of give and take that grades a C+.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end.
The Brown pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The Carl Granderson pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
Hit on TreVeyon Henderson and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick Analysis
Pick61
Rnd2
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson at pick 61 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick94
Rnd3
Kevin Winston Jr.
Kevin Winston Jr. at pick No. 94 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick117
Rnd4
Nohl Williams
They paid a round early for Nohl Williams in the 117th pick, more than the board wanted. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick128
Rnd4
Jalen Milroe
The board fumbled Jalen Milroe all the way to slot 128, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick132
Rnd4
Logan Brown
A premium they did not need to pay, Logan Brown a notch or two before his time. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick177
Rnd6
Kyle Williams
A tidy little value on Kyle Williams in the 177th overall pick, a step better than break-even. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick245
Rnd7
Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa at No. 245 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
