Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesC FutureA+
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Seahawks: B.

Boards are made to be trusted, and the Seahawks shredded theirs for JJ Pegues. He came off 36 spots early, and the room will hear about it. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

The Brooks steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The Seahawks paired the rookies with proven help, Leo Chenal leading the way. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick50 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Circle this one: Malaki Starks at pick No. 50 is a fall that decides a draft. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick66 Rnd3 Demetrius Knight Jr.
Nothing to complain about; Demetrius Knight Jr. went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick82 Rnd3 Charles Grant
Charles Grant at slot 82 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick92 Rnd3 Jared Wilson
They jumped the gun on Jared Wilson, taking him earlier than his grade liked. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick97 Rnd3 Tai Felton
They took Tai Felton at par in Round 3, Pick 33, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick137 Rnd4 Luke Kandra
A reach on Luke Kandra in the 137th overall pick; the board had better options right there. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick139 Rnd5 Ty Robinson
Value said wait; Ty Robinson in the 139th pick says they were not listening. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick149 Rnd5 JJ Pegues
They talked themselves into JJ Pegues at No. 149, and the board did not agree. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick172 Rnd5 Kyle Williams
No edge and no loss on Kyle Williams in the 172nd overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick175 Rnd5 CJ West
They paid up for CJ West at Round 5, Pick 37 when waiting would have done the job. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick223 Rnd7 Tahj Brooks
You do not let a running back like Tahj Brooks reach pick No. 223 and blink. They did not. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick234 Rnd7 Tonka Hemingway
A big swing on Tonka Hemingway at the Round 7 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick257 Rnd7 Thomas Fidone II
They did well to land Thomas Fidone II in pick 257, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
