Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Steelers: B-. The Justin Eboigbe pick is the one that will follow the Steelers into the fall. They took him 29 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. It is not that Mahogany is a bad player; it is that the Steelers had louder needs to answer first.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Taliese Fuaga
Fair-plus on Taliese Fuaga, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick51
Rnd2
Xavier Worthy
Xavier Worthy at the 51st pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick84
Rnd3
Christian Mahogany
A want over a need in the Round 3 slot: Christian Mahogany adds an offensive lineman while quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots keeps waiting.
Pick98
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson at No. 98 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick119
Rnd4
Justin Eboigbe
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Justin Eboigbe well ahead of where he belonged. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick178
Rnd6
Tahj Washington
A reach on Tahj Washington in the 178th overall pick; the board had better options right there. It fills a real need, too.
Pick195
Rnd6
M.J. Devonshire
A tidy little value on M.J. Devonshire in Round 6, Pick 20, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
