Draft Grade — Chargers
Overall A-
ValueB- NeedB TradesA FutureA+
The Chargers cashed the board's mistake on Sainristil: A-.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Mike Sainristil got past him. The Chargers do not have to explain a thing at slot 105. The sum of the weekend is a deserved A-.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They are betting Baker proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Kamari Lassiter and all.

Pick Analysis
Pick37 Rnd2 Kamari Lassiter
By-the-book stuff, Kamari Lassiter at No. 37 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick42 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
Jordan Morgan at the 42nd overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The roster fit checks out.
Pick59 Rnd2 Payton Wilson
A straight-up fair deal on Payton Wilson at pick No. 59, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick69 Rnd3 Javon Baker
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Javon Baker well ahead of where he belonged. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick105 Rnd4 Mike Sainristil
The board fumbled Mike Sainristil all the way to pick 105, and they scooped it up. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick110 Rnd4 Maason Smith
Maason Smith in the Round 4 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick140 Rnd5 Hunter Nourzad
Hunter Nourzad at the 140th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick181 Rnd6 Tahj Washington
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tahj Washington. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick225 Rnd7 Evan Williams
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Evan Williams at the Round 7 slot. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick253 Rnd7 KT Leveston
KT Leveston in No. 253 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
