Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB FutureB-
The Browns checked most of the boxes and earned a B.

They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Tyler Shough, 37 picks early at No. 104. No fireworks, but a solid B.

For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Orlando Brown Jr. deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. On value alone, Harvey makes the weekend a net positive.

They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 Shemar Stewart
By-the-book stuff, Shemar Stewart at No. 17 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick33 Rnd2 Kenneth Grant
Kenneth Grant slipping to the 33rd overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick49 Rnd2 TreVeyon Henderson
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on TreVeyon Henderson. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick67 Rnd3 Jaylin Noel
Jaylin Noel at the Round 3 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick81 Rnd3 Jalen Milroe
They went early on Jalen Milroe in pick No. 81, and the value did not follow. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick94 Rnd3 Charles Grant
A tidy little value on Charles Grant in Round 3, Pick 30, a step better than break-even. It fills a real need, too.
Pick104 Rnd4 Tyler Shough
Tyler Shough at the Round 4 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick179 Rnd6 RJ Harvey
They read the board right and RJ Harvey was the payoff at slot 179. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick192 Rnd6 Jaylen Reed
Jaylen Reed at No. 192 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
Pick200 Rnd6 Jay Higgins
Jay Higgins in Round 6, Pick 24 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick216 Rnd6 Alijah Huzzie
Alijah Huzzie at the 216th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick255 Rnd7 Shilo Sanders
Shilo Sanders at pick No. 255 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
