Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall C+
ValueC+ NeedB TradesF FutureA+
The Seahawks bled value on every deal, hence the C+.

Somebody took the Seahawks to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. For now it grades a C+, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

Brown has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain. The TeSlaa value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

Hit on Donovan Ezeiruaku and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick Analysis
Pick50 Rnd2 Donovan Ezeiruaku
No edge and no loss on Donovan Ezeiruaku in the 50th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick52 Rnd2 Bradyn Swinson
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Bradyn Swinson. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick111 Rnd4 Jordan Phillips
Good price on Jordan Phillips in the Round 4 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick113 Rnd4 Jake Majors
Jake Majors at the 113th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick118 Rnd4 Logan Brown
Logan Brown in pick No. 118 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick137 Rnd4 Jonas Sanker
Jonas Sanker at slot 137 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick138 Rnd4 Antwaun Powell-Ryland
They paid up for Antwaun Powell-Ryland at No. 138 when waiting would have done the job. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick139 Rnd5 Ty Robinson
A wild overpay on Ty Robinson in Round 5, Pick 1, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick172 Rnd5 DJ Giddens
DJ Giddens at the 172nd overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The roster fit checks out.
Pick175 Rnd5 Kyle Williams
They did well to land Kyle Williams in pick No. 175, just ahead of his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick187 Rnd6 JJ Pegues
A tidy little value on JJ Pegues in pick 187, a step better than break-even. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick207 Rnd6 Joshua Gray
A reasonable price with a little left over, Joshua Gray in the Round 6 slot. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick223 Rnd7 Carson Vinson
Carson Vinson at the 223rd pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick227 Rnd7 Ty Hamilton
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Ty Hamilton well ahead of where he belonged. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick234 Rnd7 Jackson Hawes
They talked themselves into Jackson Hawes at No. 234, and the board did not agree. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick249 Rnd7 Thomas Fidone II
They paid sticker price for Thomas Fidone II in Round 7, Pick 33, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick252 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
You do not let a wide receiver like Isaac TeSlaa reach pick 252 and blink. They did not. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
