Pegues should have been long gone. The Bears pounced, and earned a B-.

Somebody in No. 240 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bears sat still while JJ Pegues, the No. 180 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. They will need Thornton Jr. to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
