Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Bills a B-.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Bills started one anyway for Shaun Dolac, 139 picks ahead of schedule.

They banked enough surplus on Jones Jr. to cover a lot of smaller sins. Spending an early pick on cornerback with edge rusher and tight end open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Shavon Revel Jr.
In the 30th pick they get a lockdown presence outside. Need was not the driver here.
Pick56 Rnd2 Alfred Collins
By-the-book stuff, Alfred Collins at Round 2, Pick 24 squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick62 Rnd2 Maxwell Hairston
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went cornerback with Maxwell Hairston while clear needs at edge rusher and tight end sat open.
Pick109 Rnd4 Andrew Mukuba
Circle this one: Andrew Mukuba at No. 109 is a fall that decides a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick132 Rnd4 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in the Round 4 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick169 Rnd5 Kyle McCord
The board fumbled Kyle McCord all the way to the 169th overall pick, and they scooped it up. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick170 Rnd5 Shaun Dolac
Value said wait; Shaun Dolac in Round 5, Pick 32 says they were not listening. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick173 Rnd5 Trevor Etienne
Trevor Etienne at pick No. 173 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick177 Rnd6 Emery Jones Jr.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 177th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick206 Rnd6 Nohl Williams
They robbed the room for Nohl Williams here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
