The Jalen Rivers selection is the head-turner. The Commanders reached 113 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. It lands right in the middle: a C, no more, no less.

Sanders at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose.

A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
