Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
The Bears found their guy under center in Williams: B+.

The search is over. The Bears handed the keys to Caleb Williams, and the whole operation now runs on his development. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The Washington pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
By-the-book stuff, Caleb Williams at No. 1 squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick21 Rnd1 Jackson Powers-Johnson
In pick No. 21 they get a blindside protector, though they paid up to get him. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick43 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
Nothing to complain about; Keon Coleman went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick45 Rnd2 Adisa Isaac
Adisa Isaac at Round 2, Pick 13 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick74 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in the Round 3 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick75 Rnd3 Xavier Legette
They took Xavier Legette at par in pick 75, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick111 Rnd4 Braelon Allen
No drama and no debate, Braelon Allen went about where he belonged in the 111th overall pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick123 Rnd4 Theo Johnson
They liked Theo Johnson enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 123. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick145 Rnd5 Tykee Smith
Tykee Smith in slot 145 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick157 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
Kitan Oladapo at the Round 5 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick219 Rnd6 Tahj Washington
A wide receiver of that caliber at the 219th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
