Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesA FutureB-
The Bengals let All fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Erick All tumbling to the Bengals in slot 235 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

The cost of the Davis reach is exactly the players who went right after him. That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 JC Latham
In No. 18 they get a building block for the line. A real need, handled.
Pick52 Rnd2 Jonathon Brooks
Jonathon Brooks is a better player than pick 52 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick80 Rnd3 Jaden Hicks
Nice patience on Jaden Hicks, who had no business lasting to slot 80. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick100 Rnd3 Tyler Davis
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Tyler Davis well ahead of where he belonged. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick116 Rnd4 Javon Baker
Somehow Javon Baker was still sitting there in the 116th pick, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick148 Rnd5 Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones in the Round 5 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick175 Rnd5 Brennan Jackson
Brennan Jackson at the 175th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick196 Rnd6 Jared Wiley
No drama and no debate, Jared Wiley went about where he belonged in pick No. 196. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick235 Rnd7 Erick All
They robbed the room for Erick All here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick252 Rnd7 Ethan Driskell
Good price on Ethan Driskell in the Round 7 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
