Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B-
ValueB+ NeedB TradesC- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Commanders.

Nobody else had Thor Griffith anywhere near the Round 7 slot. The Commanders did, by 45 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

Getting Noel where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The veteran additions, Olumuyiwa Fashanu chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick37 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Nice patience on Nick Emmanwori, who had no business lasting to pick No. 37. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick61 Rnd2 Azareye'h Thomas
Azareye'h Thomas at the 61st pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick76 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
They barely believed it either: TreVeyon Henderson still on the board at pick 76. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick79 Rnd3 Darien Porter
Darien Porter at No. 79 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick94 Rnd3 Jordan Burch
Jordan Burch at slot 94 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick95 Rnd3 Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson at the 95th overall pick is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick132 Rnd4 Jaylin Noel
Steal is underselling it; Jaylin Noel at No. 132 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick190 Rnd6 Oronde Gadsden II
A tidy bit of business in slot 190, where Oronde Gadsden II graded well above the range. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick207 Rnd6 Jordan Hancock
They read the board right and Jordan Hancock was the payoff at the Round 6 slot. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick238 Rnd7 Carson Vinson
Taking Carson Vinson in the 238th pick is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick250 Rnd7 Thor Griffith
A real head-scratcher, Thor Griffith in pick No. 250 is miles ahead of his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
