A passer of the future in Williams, and a D-, for the Bears.

The Bears lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.

Everything downstream of Caleb Williams depends on Caleb Williams, and the building knows it. Spending an early pick on safety with interior defensive lineman, running back and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. If Kamara pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They banked enough surplus on Jones to cover a lot of smaller sins. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
