A masterclass at the trade table lands the Commanders a B. The Commanders spent real capital to be 56 picks early on Thor Griffith, and the board is going to hold them to it. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The Jones Jr. pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. Spending an early pick on specialist with cornerback, edge rusher and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.
That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
