Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall
B-

TradesB-
FutureB-
The Cardinals checked most of the boxes and earned a B-. When the story of this class is written, it opens with Kendall Milton at the Round 7 slot, a reach of 159 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. However the rest shakes out, Barner at that price is a win they earned.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In the 4th pick they get a go-to option on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick27
Rnd1
Quinyon Mitchell
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick35
Rnd2
Tyler Guyton
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tyler Guyton. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick66
Rnd3
Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson in the 66th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick71
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
They paid sticker price for Cooper Beebe in the Round 3 slot, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick90
Rnd3
Leonard Taylor III
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Leonard Taylor III well ahead of where he belonged. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick108
Rnd4
Tommy Eichenberg
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Tommy Eichenberg. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick137
Rnd5
Javon Baker
Javon Baker at the 137th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick188
Rnd6
Andru Phillips
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Andru Phillips at slot 188. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick222
Rnd7
Kendall Milton
A real head-scratcher, Kendall Milton in No. 222 is miles ahead of his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick224
Rnd7
AJ Barner
AJ Barner at pick No. 224 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
