Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

FutureA+
The Bears turned the phones into found money: A-. The Zion Tupuola-Fetui pick is the one that will follow the Bears into the fall. They took him 32 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Very little went wrong, and the A- is earned.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. The Bears paired the rookies with proven help, D.K. Metcalf leading the way.
However the rest shakes out, Sainristil at that price is a win they earned.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Malik Nabers and all.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In No. 9 they get a No. 1 receiver. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick78
Rnd3
Michael Hall Jr.
Michael Hall Jr. in pick 78 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick81
Rnd3
Blake Fisher
A big swing on Blake Fisher at slot 81, well ahead of any board in the building. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick89
Rnd3
Mike Sainristil
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Mike Sainristil in pick No. 89. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick90
Rnd3
Bucky Irving
A straight-up fair deal on Bucky Irving at the Round 3 slot, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick107
Rnd4
Darius Robinson
A reach on Darius Robinson in Round 4, Pick 7; the board had better options right there. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick111
Rnd4
Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks at Round 4, Pick 11 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick120
Rnd4
Jordan Travis
A premium they did not need to pay, Jordan Travis a notch or two before his time. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick123
Rnd4
James Williams
They paid a round early for James Williams in pick 123, more than the board wanted. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick143
Rnd5
Zion Tupuola-Fetui
This one needs a full-page explanation: Zion Tupuola-Fetui in the 143rd pick, miles early. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick188
Rnd6
Jaylan Ford
A clean, defensible pick in slot 188 with a little surplus value in Jaylan Ford. The roster fit checks out.
