Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B
ValueC- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
The Jaguars won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Jaguars took Jayson Jones a full 71 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

Landing Legette that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick35 Rnd2 Ja'Tavion Sanders
They left a pile of value on the table to take Ja'Tavion Sanders this early at the Round 2 slot. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick48 Rnd2 Sedrick Van Pran
Sedrick Van Pran in the 48th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick65 Rnd3 Xavier Legette
They barely believed it either: Xavier Legette still on the board at pick 65. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick90 Rnd3 Trey Benson
Steal is underselling it; Trey Benson at No. 90 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It fills a real need, too.
Pick94 Rnd3 Dominick Puni
A conviction pick on Dominick Puni at slot 94 that the board grades a round light. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick96 Rnd3 Austin Booker
They reached into another round for Austin Booker, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick98 Rnd3 Khyree Jackson
A straight-up fair deal on Khyree Jackson at No. 98, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick114 Rnd4 Jordan Jefferson
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jordan Jefferson in pick No. 114, miles early. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick116 Rnd4 James Williams
James Williams at the 116th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick155 Rnd5 Cam Hart
Cam Hart in the Round 5 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick195 Rnd6 Christian Jones
They paid sticker price for Christian Jones in slot 195, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick211 Rnd6 DeMonte Capehart
DeMonte Capehart at the 211th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick225 Rnd7 Jayson Jones
They reached a country mile for Jayson Jones at pick 225, and the board is aghast. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick237 Rnd7 Steele Chambers
A clean, defensible pick in Round 7, Pick 17 with a little surplus value in Steele Chambers. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
