Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B
ValueC NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
The Jaguars fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Jaguars spent Round 3, Pick 33 on Ben Sinnott, a name most had 49 spots down the list. No fireworks, but a solid B.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. However the rest shakes out, Paul at that price is a win they earned. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 9 of 9 of the wish list covered.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick51 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
T'Vondre Sweat at the 51st pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick59 Rnd2 Patrick Paul
Value with a capital V on Patrick Paul in the Round 2 slot, a genuine coup. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick60 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Zach Frazier. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick79 Rnd3 Christian Mahogany
They took Christian Mahogany at par in Round 3, Pick 15, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick83 Rnd3 Tyler Davis
They liked Tyler Davis enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 83. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick87 Rnd3 Maason Smith
By-the-book stuff, Maason Smith at the 87th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. Need-wise, a curious use of the pick.
Pick88 Rnd3 Mason McCormick
A reach on Mason McCormick in No. 88; the board had better options right there. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick90 Rnd3 Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson at the 90th pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick95 Rnd3 Darius Robinson
They reached into another round for Darius Robinson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick96 Rnd3 Ben Sinnott
Ben Sinnott at pick No. 96 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It fills a real need, too.
Pick99 Rnd3 James Williams
A swing that ignored the value entirely, James Williams well ahead of where he belonged. The roster fit checks out.
Pick109 Rnd4 Cam Hart
Cam Hart in slot 109 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick115 Rnd4 Ainias Smith
No edge and no loss on Ainias Smith in the 115th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick117 Rnd4 Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in Round 4, Pick 17 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick124 Rnd4 Austin Booker
This one needs a full-page explanation: Austin Booker in the 124th overall pick, miles early. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick133 Rnd4 Jaylen Wright
Jaylen Wright at the Round 4 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick137 Rnd5 Javon Foster
A quiet steal in Round 5, Pick 1: Javon Foster for less than the market said. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick145 Rnd5 Jordan Travis
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jordan Travis in pick No. 145. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick152 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
They left a pile of value on the table to take Kitan Oladapo this early at pick 152. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick195 Rnd6 Michael Barrett
Michael Barrett in the 195th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick211 Rnd6 Kingsley Eguakun
Kingsley Eguakun at No. 211 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick224 Rnd7 Jawhar Jordan
Nothing to complain about; Jawhar Jordan went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick234 Rnd7 Steele Chambers
Steele Chambers in No. 234 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick246 Rnd7 Carson Steele
Carson Steele at the Round 7 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
