After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Raiders committed. Fernando Mendoza is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

Getting Thompson where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

If Barber pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
