Slasky80 DRAFTING FOR THEBears
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Bears, and a B to prove it. The Bears clearly saw something nobody else did in Da'Shawn Womack, taking him 30 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
On value alone, Haulcy makes the weekend a net positive. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Kayden McDonald
In the 25th pick they get a disruptive interior force. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick57
Rnd2
Sonny Styles
The board fumbled Sonny Styles all the way to pick No. 57, and they scooped it up. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick89
Rnd3
A.J. Haulcy
A safety of that caliber at the Round 3 slot is the definition of value, full stop. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick129
Rnd4
Parker Brailsford
Parker Brailsford at pick 129 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick164
Rnd5
Max Iheanachor
The board had Max Iheanachor higher than the 164th overall pick, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick239
Rnd7
Da'Shawn Womack
Da'Shawn Womack in No. 239 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick241
Rnd7
Marquis Johnson
Marquis Johnson in slot 241 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
