When the story of this class is written, it opens with James Williams at No. 92, a reach of 37 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. The math is unkind, and the D- follows.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They will answer for taking safety early while quarterback and interior defensive lineman went begging.

The Jones value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
