Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesB+ FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Jaguars.

It is the swing that defines the weekend: Darius Robinson in Round 3, Pick 33, a good 23 spots before the room expected him. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Robinson pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback still on the board. On value alone, Verse makes the weekend a net positive.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Jared Verse
In pick No. 29 they get a disruptor off the edge, outstanding value to boot. More want than need.
Pick48 Rnd2 Jackson Powers-Johnson
Jackson Powers-Johnson at No. 48 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick61 Rnd2 Brenden Rice
They paid a round early for Brenden Rice in Round 2, Pick 29, more than the board wanted. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick79 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
They took Cooper Beebe at par in slot 79, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick92 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
No drama and no debate, Zak Zinter went about where he belonged in the 92nd overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick96 Rnd3 Darius Robinson
A want over a need in the Round 3 slot: Darius Robinson adds an edge rusher while quarterback keeps waiting.
Pick114 Rnd4 James Williams
The board had cheaper options than James Williams at the 114th overall pick, and it noticed. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick116 Rnd4 Cam Hart
Cam Hart at slot 116 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick129 Rnd4 Javon Foster
Javon Foster at pick 129 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick155 Rnd5 Jaylin Simpson
The board had Jaylin Simpson higher than Round 5, Pick 19, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick161 Rnd5 Jordan Jefferson
Jordan Jefferson in pick No. 161 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick195 Rnd6 Jared Wiley
Jared Wiley at the Round 6 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick211 Rnd6 Steele Chambers
Steele Chambers in No. 211 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick237 Rnd7 Carson Steele
A conviction pick on Carson Steele at the 237th pick that the board grades a round light. The roster fit checks out.
