Grand theft in the Round 4 slot: the Patriots steal Beebe and grade out a A-.

The real work happened on the phones. The Patriots fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with.

That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher, interior defensive lineman and other spots still on the board.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

In the end it comes back to Troy Fautanu, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
