After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

The Corley pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

They will need Jones to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
