Daniels is the plan now, and the Patriots grade out a D+.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Patriots, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. Hard to defend, and the D+ reflects that.

Jayden Daniels gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Travis. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

It is not that Smith is a bad player; it is that the Patriots had louder needs to answer first.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.
