The Desmond Watson pick is the one that will follow the Texans into the fall. They took him 64 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Landing Mafah that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The roster is better shaped than it was, with running back chief among the fixes.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
