Powerful DRAFTING FOR THETexans

Draft Grade — Texans
Overall

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Texans: B-. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Cade Denhoff at pick 243 is 124 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. The Banks steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
They left with running back solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Kenyon Sadiq
In slot 28 they get a security blanket over the middle, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Pick38
Rnd2
Emmanuel Pregnon
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Emmanuel Pregnon. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick59
Rnd2
Caleb Banks
They read the board right and Caleb Banks was the payoff at Round 2, Pick 27. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick69
Rnd3
Jadarian Price
They let Jadarian Price come to them and pounced at the Round 3 slot. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick106
Rnd4
Jalon Kilgore
They paid sticker price for Jalon Kilgore in No. 106, and that is fine. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick128
Rnd4
Max Iheanachor
Max Iheanachor at pick No. 128 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It fills a real need, too.
Pick165
Rnd5
Oscar Delp
They took Oscar Delp at par in the Round 5 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick243
Rnd7
Cade Denhoff
Cade Denhoff in pick 243 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick244
Rnd7
London Humphreys
London Humphreys at Round 7, Pick 28 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
