You can draft well and still miss the point. The Texans did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to wide receiver, which was the need that mattered most. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

The Rutledge reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The Slaughter pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
